The announcement of Steve Piatek as Ontario Junior Development Manager has been welcomed by everyone involved with Canada Rugby League. He will immediately start putting together an Ontario U17’s Representative team to play the BC Bulldogs U17’s on August 21st in Toronto.

Canada Wolverines Rugby League Coach & Ontario Rugby League President, Jamie Lester commented, “Steve is a perfect role model for all aspiring young players. He has represented Canada at the highest level and most recently co-captained the Canada Wolverines at the World Cup Qualifiers. More importantly, Steve is a real people’s person and will do a fantastic job leading the Ontario youth program.”

Steve will be working with the Head Coach of the Canada Young Wolverines, Andy Blackburn who is a huge fan of Steve’s professionalism. Andy says, “I can think of no better role model for our aspiring young rugby league players than Steve Piatek. Having got to know Steve well at the recent World Cup Qualifiers, Steve proved himself to be not only a fantastic co-captain but a model professional both on and off the field. A real student of the game, Steve will bring not only a fantastic array of skills and rugby league knowledge to our youth, but will instill the core values of rugby league that will make our young players better human beings.”
