It's official - Canada v USA : September 19 in Kingston
International Rugby League returns to Canada for the first time in
fifteen years when the Canadian Wolverines host the USA Tomahawks on Sunday September
19th at 1:00pm.
After the newly formed Canada Rugby League fielded its first
representative side just last month, the focus has now moved onto establishing
a profile within the country, including the reintroduction of international
football.
Building on the rivalry that already exists between the USA and Canada, it was
a logical step forward for the organization, and it will see the two nations
battle it out annually for the newly commissioned Colonial Cup.
The new trophy will add another chapter to a rivalry that has existed on the
Rugby League field since 1987, and sees the return of annual clashes between
the two North American nations.
The inaugural Colonial Cup match will take place at the Richardson Memorial
Stadium, located on Queen’s University campus in Kingston, Ontario.
The match will be played on Sunday, September 19, with tickets for the clash
starting from just $15.
Tickets for the match can be purchased from the Queen's Box
Office (284 Earl St, Kingston) or by phoning 613-533-2500.
